For the Northeasterners: 20% off at the Christmas Tree Shop

Although I live in the south now, I get back home to New England a decent amount.  One of my favorite shopping stops is The Christmas Tree Shop.  A few years ago it was bought out by Bed, Bath & Beyond and I got my hopes up for franchises moving south, but I don't think that's going to happen.

For anyone who hasn't been there, it's kind of a mix of a discount store slash yard sale slash cottagey-decorations - there are some bargains to be had there when it comes to home decor, especially seasonal items.

Next week, in preparation for the holiday season, they are offering 20% off your entire purchase (a somewhat rare event):

Click here to print your own copy.

P.S. I just checked their website and there's one in Hoover, AL AND Florence, KY?!?!?  What the heck, Christmas Tree Shops?!  Open in Nashville!

Last day for J.Crew's STAYWARM promo

Today J.Crew is offering an extra 25% off your purchase (no minimum) and free shipping with orders over $150 with the code STAYWARM.  A few things you should know about if you are planning to purchase anything today:

- Ebates is offering 8% cash back on J.Crew purchases today (much higher than their usual 2%).  This is a great opportunity if you're planning on doing a major holiday gift haul.  Ebates will pay you in either a check or via PayPal.

-The Factory is open today, even though you cannot get their from J.Crew's homepage.  Sneaky, sneaky!  They also have several new arrivals, as well as new additions to their clearance section.

Here are some things I picked up during this promo:

Lady lace popover in ivory - Originally $198, sale for $119.99, after promo: $89.99

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this sweater.  It's so delicate and feminine, yet cozy from the merino wool.  It's my first J.Crew Collection item (these are specialty items J.Crew offers at a higher price point) and while I'm not sure it's worth close to $200, I'm happy to pay less than half price.  I debated with navy and ivory, but the ivory is oh-so-pretty.  I'm going to save this one to wear for my birthday in a couple of weeks.

Men's Factory Walking Coat: Originally $198, sale for $148, $111 after the code.

My husband has a peacoat right now that he uses, but I think a more formal coat is appropriate for some of the nicer events we have been going to lately.  I hope this turns out well: it's being delivered today.

Shimmer bow sweater: $88, after code $66

I wanted to love this - I thought it would be a great way to incorporate some black and gold into my wardrobe without looking like a mascot (but, Go Dores!).  Unfortunately, I think it runs big - it was really unflattering in my usual S size - I probably could have sized down to a XS.  However, it was really itchy - something that other 'Crew bloggers have noted but I chose to ignore.  Bad decision.  I think it would have irritated winter skin - which stinks, because the bow in the back is so cute.  If J.Crew offered this in a solid color merino wool, I would definitely repurchase.  This will be heading back to J.Crew this afternoon.

Vineyard Vines Friends & Family Sale: 25% off

Today via Twitter, Vineyard Vines shared a 25% off code for their sale: FAMILY.

Vineyard Vines has added quite a few accessories and gifts to their collection for the holiday season - here are a few picks:

Horseplay Fleece Blanket - $66 after the code.

I love the different borders and already told my brother he needs this for his boat.

VV Tervis Tumblers - $41.25 after the code

Love these - I used to have two Vandy ones at my house but one seems to have disappeared.

Vineyard Vines offers free shipping if your order exceeds $150.  Happy Shopping!

J.Crew - No more final sale!

Today, J.Crew did away with the dreaded final sale!  Yippee!  This will likely stay put until Christmas Day, when it will turn back to final sale.  I'm assuming they do this for non-regular J.Crew shoppers who buy on sale for Christmas gifts, easing their mind about the fits and preferences of the sale item gift recipient.

Some cute picks:

I bought this at a brick and mortar store a couple of months ago for far less than the online price, but I actually think I would pay more - I think I bought it for $34?  Anyway - it's a great fit, and something I'll use for years - its a heavyweight jersey with adorable rope cords at the hood and waist.  Definitely something I'll wear on the boat this summer.

J.Crew's ballet flats on me are notoriously fickle.  I own several pairs in different sizes - 6.5, 7, and 7.5 depending on the style, season, and year.  It drives me up a wall!  This is something I would definitely try, knowing that it's not final sale.  I love the look - you can get the look of an ivory flat, but with black edges to prevent a fast wear on them.

Ruffled gamine jacket, $69.99

This jacket is ADORABLE.  I love the ruffle at the waist, and the cute tie!  I think we can all thank Kate Middleton for bringing back great, fashionable coats no matter what the season.  This cotton jacket is out of season now but it's a great pickup to prep for the spring.

Let me know if the removal of final sale will encourage you to buy more!  I know I will.  J.Crew sent me my $100 rewards card, so I am certainly looking forward to using that.

Happy shopping!
